Job summary

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Abilene seeks a dedicated Speech Pathologist to help patients regain communication skills in a supportive, patient-centered environment. You will evaluate and treat speech-language disorders, document progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Licensure or certification is required by state regulations, CCC is preferred, CPR must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and a Master’s degree is preferred or a Bachelor’s with field experience.

Qualifications

• Current licensure or certification required by state regulations.
• Successful completion of Speech-Language Pathology Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC).
• CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Master’s degree preferred, or Bachelor’s degree with field experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, assess, develop, and administer personalized treatment plans for patients with speech and language rehabilitation needs.
• Identify issues and modify speech therapy treatment if necessary.
• Track and document patient performance, progress, and response to treatment.
• Celebrate patient victories along the way.
