Job summary

Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for a part-time role at a brand-new inpatient rehabilitation facility. You will evaluate, treat, and document patient progress according to physician orders and the department plan of care.

The role requires ASHA CCC-SLP or CFY eligibility, state licensure eligibility, and current BLS/CPR. Join a team opening a state-of-the-art hospital focused on exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent approved by ASHA.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA or CFY eligibility.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state.
• Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and provide speech-language pathology evaluations.
• Establish a plan of care based on physician orders and approved plan.
• Deliver evidence-based therapies and monitor progress.
• Adjust treatment to meet goals and communicate results to the team.
• Plan for discharge and coordinate with patient and family.

How You'll Contribute

Assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides speech and language therapy evaluations, modalities, and treatments in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care.

• Performs patient assessment.
• Establish a plan of care.
• Provides care in accordance with physician's orders and established plan of care.
• Assesses the effectiveness of treatment and modifies treatment to achieve goals.
• Plans for patient discharge. Communicates with patients, family, caregivers, significant other, and members of the healthcare team to achieve rehabilitation goals and promote maximum benefits of care.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• A Bachelor's and Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders, or similarly titled area that is consistent and acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
• Possess or eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow (CFY).
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in state.
• Current Basic Life Support/CPR card.
