Job summary

Baptist Memorial Rehabilitation Hospital in Germantown, Tennessee is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join Lifepoint Rehabilitation and help deliver high-quality inpatient care.

You will perform assessments, design care plans, educate patients and families, assist with discharges, and supervise clinical fellows; state licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist; Current licensure with State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology in Tennessee
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition.
• Designs and implements a plan of care addressing identified problems with patient/family involvement.
• Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
• Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current licensure with the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology in Tennessee in addition to:

• Education: Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology Required
• Licenses: Licensed Speech Therapist; Current licensure with State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
