Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join the Beaumont Children's Center in Dearborn, full-time.

You will work with children birth to 18 with diverse developmental, speech-language, and neurological diagnoses, delivering individualized therapy and collaborating with families. The role requires pediatric outpatient rehabilitation experience, ASHA CCC or CFY, and Michigan licensure, with a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

  • Experience in pediatric outpatient rehabilitation
  • Experience with AAC and feeding preferred
  • Licensure in Michigan or temporary CFY license (required)

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized speech-language therapy to children and adults per physician referral.
  • Evaluate referred patients and establish family-centered goals.
  • Develop and execute treatment plans to maximize independence.
  • Participate in performance improvement and professional development activities.

About The Unit

The Speech and Language Pathology Department is widely recognized for its excellent programs dealing with adult communication disorders resulting from a brain injury, voice problems, swallowing disorders or oral motor dysfunction. We also offer lymphedema services at this location.

Outpatient pediatric speech pathologist working with children birth through 26 with a variety of diagnoses. Significant autism and neurodevelopmental population. Experience in outpatient pediatrics preferred. Experience with AAC and feeding preferred.

Clinician must have pediatric outpatient rehabilitation experience. Clinician must be able to work with children ages 1-18 with a variety of developmental, speech/language and neurological diagnoses.
Scope Of Work

The Speech-Language Pathologist is an independent health care professional who provides individualized patient care that assesses and treats speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, voice, fluency and swallowing disorders in children and adults per physician referral. The Speech Language pathologist is responsible to evaluate referred patients, establish patient and family centered goals and develop and execute treatment plans to promote or maximize independence in the discharged setting. The staff speech language pathologist also participates in performance improvement and educational opportunities that promote the growth and development of the department and profession.

  • Education / Training:
  • Master’s Degree, Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), ASHA.
  • Work Experience:
  • Experience in adult/children neurological speech and language disorders, evaluation and treatment, including aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, dysphagia, laryngectomy, stuttering, and voice disorders.
  • Experience with head and neck cancer, tracheostomies, cognition, TBI, dementia, and modified barium swallow studies.
  • Certification, Licensure, Registration:
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence, America Speech-Language-Hearing Association, (required) or
  • Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • Licensure in Speech Pathology-Michigan (required) or temporary license during the CFY (required)
