Upstate Medical University is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for weekend coverage to provide direct patient care across a full spectrum of swallowing, feeding, speech, language and cognitive disorders for inpatients. Responsibilities include collaborating with a care team and families and timely documentation.
In this per diem weekend role, candidates must hold a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, NYS licensure, and CCC-SLP certification, with BLS-CPR by appointment.
The Speech Language Pathologist - Weekend will be responsible for direct patient care including assessment and treatment of swallowing, feeding, speech, language, and cognitive disorders covering the spectrum of inpatient diagnoses including stroke, head trauma, head and neck cancer, chronic airway disorder, and related disorders; and services for speech, language, and swallowing in a medically based practice; pediatric to geriatric patient populations. Collaborate with other health care providers and families. Prepare and maintain patient care documentation in a timely manner.
Master's Degree in Speech Pathology, NYS licensure, clinical certification in Speech Pathology (or its equivalent) and completion of clinical fellowship year required. BLS-CPR certification required by time of appointment.
Work Days: Must be available to work at least two weekend days a month, day shift.
Accepting Speech Language Pathologist - Weekend applications for current and future openings in the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation - Rehab Therapies. The hourly rate for per diem is $65/hour.
