Job summary

Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI seeks a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to work within a multidisciplinary team delivering therapy to adult and geriatric patients in acute care rehabilitation.

You will evaluate, treat, and monitor progress, document care per regulatory standards, and educate families and nursing staff on follow-through programs in a fast-paced setting. CPR/BLS and ASHA credentials preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current and unrestricted SLP license in the state of service.
  • ASHA CCC or eligible certification.
  • At least 6 months of experience working with adult and geriatric populations.
  • Active CPR/BLS certification.

  • Document care in compliance with regulatory and accrediting standards.

Job description

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

As a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at Kent Hospital, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver therapy that enhances speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities for adult and geriatric patients in acute care rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

The SLP evaluates, treats, and monitors patients’ progress, documents care in compliance with regulatory and accrediting standards, educates families and nursing staff on follow‑through programs, and maintains a safe and organized work environment. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, coordination with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members, and adherence to professional standards and applicable laws.

Hourly range: $55.00

Qualifications
  • Graduate of a master level program in Speech Language Pathology accredited by EAB or meets ASHA certification requirements.
  • Current and unrestricted SLP license in the state where services are rendered.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology granted by ASHA.
  • Minimum 6 months experience working with adult and geriatric populations.
  • CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
