Job summary

Recover-Care Healthcare in Kansas seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech or language disorders, and to formulate individualized treatment programs.

Under physician direction, you will provide direct patient care in SNF settings, screen and assess residents, develop care plans, document progress, and communicate with families to support home practice. A state license is required and proficiency with standard documentation is expected.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist is required.
  • Proficiency with applicable state, federal, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, hearing, cognitive, or swallowing issues.
  • Under a physician’s direction, provide direct patient care based on established plan of care.
  • Screens and evaluates residents and develops appropriate care plans.
  • Plan, directs, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communication and/or swallowing abilities.
  • Administer, score, and interpret specialized hearing and speech tests.
  • Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide home practice strategies.
  • Complete required forms and documents per company policy and regulations; maintain patient records.

Job Summary

The Speech Pathologist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech or language disorders, formulate individualized treatment programs.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, hearing, cognitive, or swallowing issues.
  • Under a physician’s direction, provides direct patient / resident treatment based on established plan of care.
  • Screens and evaluates Resident and develops appropriate care plan
  • Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and / or swallowing or cognitive problems.
  • Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
  • Instructs residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
  • Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
  • Maintains patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.

Education and Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited Masters, or Doctorate in Speech language Pathology.
  • State license as a speech pathologist required.
  • Proficiency with all applicable state, federal, and professional standards
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
