Job summary

Bedford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat residents with speech, language, and swallowing disorders. You will formulate individualized treatment programs and work under physician direction to implement plans of care.

Responsibilities include screening residents, developing care plans, administering assessments, and educating families and staff on exercises and strategies to practice skills.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology (Masters or Doctorate).
  • State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist required.
  • Experience delivering SLP services in SNF settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, or swallowing disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.
  • Screen residents and formulate appropriate care plans.
  • Provide rehabilitative programs to improve communication and swallowing.
  • Administer, score, and interpret speech-language assessments.
  • Instruct residents and caregivers on practice strategies for skill improvement.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and complete required documentation.

Speech Language Pathologist
Job Summary:

The Speech Pathologist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech or language disorders, formulate individualized treatment programs.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, hearing, cognitive, or swallowing issues.
  • Under a physician’s direction, provides direct patient / resident treatment based on established plan of care.
  • Screens and evaluates Resident and develops appropriate care plan
  • Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and / or swallowing or cognitive problems.
  • Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
  • Instructs residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
  • Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
  • Maintains patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.

  • Ability to travel as needed to perform job
Education and Experience:
  • Graduate of an accredited Masters, or Doctorate in Speech language Pathology.
  • State license as a speech pathologist required.
  • Proficiency with all applicable state, federal, and professional standards
