Job summary

Wathena Healthcare & Rehab Center seeks a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with speech, hearing, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

Under a physician's direction, you will deliver direct patient care, screen and develop care plans, administer tests, educate families, and maintain precise records while contributing to rehabilitative programs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Current license in Speech Therapy as required by state law
• Certification in clinical competency
• One-year clinical experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient treatment under a physician's direction
• Screen and evaluate residents; develop appropriate care plan
• Plan and conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, or cognitive function
• Administer, score, and interpret speech/hearing tests
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and practice new skills
• Complete required forms and documentation per policy and regulations
• Maintain patient records accurately and timely
• Devise specialized tools and treatments for patient needs
