Job summary

West Pico Terrace Healthcare & Wellness Center in Los Angeles seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide direct patient care in a skilled nursing rehab setting. You will evaluate and treat patients, develop treatment plans, and document services according to regulatory standards.

The role includes supervising Clinical Fellows and other SLPs, collaborating with physicians and the rehab team, and contributing to program development while maintaining current licensure and CCC.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Speech-Language Pathology evaluation and treatment as they relate to medically based speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Ability to supervise and direct assistants and aides. Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with all types and levels of staff and patients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment programs to maximize speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities within each patient’s structural or functional limitations.
• Performs accurate, comprehensive evaluations and develops effective plans.
• Documents services in the medical records and ensures billing consistency.
• Supervises Clinical Fellows and other SLPs in direct patient care and related activities.
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team; communicates patient progress and plans.
• Educates patients' families or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
• Interacts with rehab team conferences, discharge planning, and caregiver training sessions.
