What You’ll Do

• Conduct evaluations, assess home environment, identify equipment needs related to speech/language function.
• Identify speech defects and develop a plan of care to improve patient’s function.
• Administer diagnostic evaluations and basic informal assessments in accordance with the plan of care.
• Recommend communication devices/aids as needed.
• Prepare evaluation reports and make recommendations.
• Advise, consult, and teach procedures to clients, families, and staff.
• Provide direct speech services, record responses, and report to providers.

Qualifications

• Certification of clinical competence in speech from ASHA.
• Licensed as a speech therapist in practicing state.
• At least one year of experience in acute care or equivalent.
• Knowledge of speech therapy principles and practices.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to make home visits and provide nursing care.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
