• Performs tests to evaluate and assess speech, voice, swallowing, dysfluency, cognition and language function using written and oral tests and special instruments.
• Provides functional treatment for disorders of speech, voice, swallowing, dysfluency, cognition and language.
• Develops therapeutic plans in collaboration with other specialists.
• Maintains medical records and discharge documentation.
• Monitors patients' progress and adjusts treatments accordingly.
• Instructs patient and family in techniques to increase functional communication and swallow safety.
• Consults with and educates medical staff on speech and swallowing topics.
• Supervises, trains and assesses therapy students during onsite clinical affiliations.
