Job summary

SASED is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to provide services to students with developmental and/or physical disabilities in classroom settings, helping design communication systems so students can express their needs and thoughts in the real world.

The SLP will collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet IEP goals across the curriculum, conduct screenings, document progress, and adapt therapy approaches based on data and MTSS implementation.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Disorders.
• Illinois Professional Educator License endorsed for speech-language pathology (teaching or non-teaching).
• ASHA CCC-SLP (or CF process).
• Illinois license or temporary license for SLP.
• Valid Illinois driver's license and access to reliable vehicle for travel between locations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Planning and Preparation.
• Organizes a program that addresses local school speech-language goals.
• Works with school personnel to meet IEP goals across the curriculum.
• Coordinates speech-language services with other student services.
• Maintains records of the program and prepares periodic reports.
• Develops appropriate IEPs based on students' strengths and needs.
• Provides speech and language therapy to students to minimize impacts of disorders.
• Consults with parents, teachers and other school personnel.
