Job summary

SASED is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to provide speech/language services to students with developmental and/or physical disabilities in classroom settings. The SLP will design communication systems, collaborate with the educational team, and support IEP goals across the curriculum.

The role requires a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, IL licensure as an SLP, and ASHA CCC-SLP, with driving between service locations. 184-day school year, on-site duties in Illinois.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Disorders.
  • Illinois Professional Educator License endorsed for speech-language pathology (teaching or non-teaching).
  • ASHA Certification CCC-SLP (or working toward CCC-SLP through CF Process).
  • Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation license/Temporary License as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and Preparation.
  • Organizes a program that addresses local school speech-language goals.
  • Works cooperatively with school personnel to establish and accomplish goals and objectives of the LEA.
  • Coordinates speech-language services with student services provided by other school personnel.
  • Maintains records of the speech-language program and prepares periodic reports as required.
  • Maintains current files and data for program planning and decision making for students.
  • Completes procedural documentation appropriately.
  • Develops appropriate IEPs based on students' strengths and needs.
  • Selects and implements evidence-based practices which support goals and objectives.
