Job summary

La-Vida-Serena-Nursing- is seeking a Full-Time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house team serving residents with person-centered care. The role focuses on accurate assessments of swallowing and cognition, development of individualized treatment plans, and collaboration with care staff to maximize resident independence.

Responsibilities include education for residents and caregivers, AAC implementation, and coordination with physicians for diagnostic procedures.

Qualifications

• Active/Valid Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology is required or in good standing with regulatory agencies.
• SNF/Long-term care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of current treatment practices in speech-language pathology.
• Ability to work with residents with varying personalities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' swallowing or cognitive deficits.
• Help residents in goals to improve cognition or swallowing.
• Educate residents and caregivers.
• Provide skilled, medically necessary speech and language therapy assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Implement AAC systems for severe expressive or language disorders.
• Provide training to clients, family, caregivers, and other professionals.
