Job summary

Oakland Schools is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for a long-term substitute position. The assignment spans approximately 12 weeks from 11/23/26 to 3/1/2027, serving students across ages with diverse disabilities under IEP guidelines.

The role requires a valid Michigan SLP license and ASHA CCC or CFY, with responsibilities including direct and consultative services, assessment, and collaboration with the IEPT, teachers, and parents. Strong documentation and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Speech Language Pathology License and ASHA CCC or CFY.
• Provide direct/consultation speech and language services to students as developed in IEPs.
• Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for speech and language impairments as aligned with IDEA and MARSE.
• Collaborate with IEPT and educators in IEP development and classroom accommodations.
• Maintain caseload records and logs documenting services and student progress.
• Communicate with parents, staff and administrators about services and progress.
• Collaborate with teachers and school personnel on accommodations and implementation.
• Support and teach Alternative and Augmentative Communication devices for students with complex needs.
• Leverage technology to maximize communication with students and families.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
