Job summary

Ascension Health in Smithville, Texas is seeking a Part-time Speech-Language Pathologist at Seton Smithville Regional Hospital in the Acute Care department. You will complete individualized patient evaluations, develop and implement care plans with the care team, and educate patients and families on therapy goals and rehab strategies in collaboration with physicians and staff.

Minimum requirements include Texas licensure, BLS within 30 days of hire, and the specified education path.

Qualifications

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider within 30 days; Texas Speech-Language Pathologist credentialing required or provisional license acceptable until issued.
• Education: High school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete individualized patient evaluations and participate in developing and implementing care plans with physicians and patient care teams.
• Provide, document and direct skilled therapeutic care to progress the patient through their plan of care.
• Instruct and educate patient/family/caregivers in therapy use and rehabilitation related to diagnosis.
• Prioritize caseload and coordinate with therapy and medical staff for appropriate assignments/handoff.

Education

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Complete individualized patient evaluations and participate in developing and implementing individual care plans through collaboration with physicians and patient care teams, including patient and family.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Speech‑Language Pathologist credentialed from the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech‑LanguagePathology and Audiology obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Speech language pathologist provisional license will be accepted until license is issued. License must be obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date. Will also accept Texas‑Speech Language Pathologist - Intern

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
