Job summary

Ascension in Austin, TX seeks a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide outpatient pediatric therapy. You will evaluate and treat patients, implement therapy plans, and educate families on care and discharge processes.

The role requires TX SLP licensure, strong communication, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in a supportive environment. On-site work with comprehensive benefits is provided.

Qualifications

  • Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Texas required.
  • Bachelor’s or higher with required clinical credentialing and state licensure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration with patients and families.

Responsibilities

  • Perform therapy interventions using standard techniques appropriate for each patient.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

Evaluate and treat patients requiring speech-language therapy.

  • Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient.
  • Educate and counsel patient and family regarding treatment plans.
  • Maintain clinical records and follow performance improvement recommendations.
  • Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from speech therapy services. Provide information regarding appropriate support programs.
What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Speech-Language Pathologist credentialed from the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Speech language pathologist provisional license will be accepted until license is issued. License must be obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date. Will also accept Texas-Speech Language Pathologist - Intern

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
