CommuniKids NY is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for a full-time, on-site role in New York, NY, with potential split time between NY and NJ offices. Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech Language Pathologist in New York and New Jersey; ASHA CCC-SLP preferred.
  • Experience with pediatric and adolescent communication disorders.
  • Knowledge and clinical skills in managing dysphagia and related swallowing concerns.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and family communication skills in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Experience with autism spectrum disorders, auditory processing disorders, or other complex developmental conditions.

Responsibilities

Company Description CommuniKids NY is a full-service speech-language and occupational therapy practice with offices in Summit, New Jersey and on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Led by experienced clinical leaders, the team provides individualized, family-centered care for children and adolescents. The practice addresses a wide range of needs, from articulation difficulties to more complex concerns such as Central Auditory Processing and Autism Spectrum Disorders. As a multi-disciplinary facility, CommuniKids NY offers coordinated care, including co-treatments and back-to-back sessions for clients who benefit from multiple therapy services.

There is ample opportunity for mentorship and learning.

Role Description The Speech Language Pathologist is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY. We are also looking for a therapist that would split their time between the NY and NJ offices (no car necessary as our NJ office is directly across the street from the train station). This team member will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in pediatric and teenage clients, using evidence-based approaches and individualized treatment plans. Daily responsibilities include conducting evaluations, developing and implementing therapy programs, documenting progress, and collaborating closely with families, caregivers, and other clinicians. The Speech Language Pathologist will work in a multi-disciplinary environment, coordinate with occupational therapists for co-treatments when appropriate, and participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, adhering to ethical and regulatory standards, and contributing to a supportive, child-centered clinical atmosphere.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Speech Therapy
  • Knowledge of oral motor/myofunctional therapy a plus
  • Experience working with Communication Disorders and Language Disorders in pediatric and adolescent populations.
  • Knowledge and clinical skills in managing Dysphagia and related swallowing concerns.
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
