Ascend Rehab Services is seeking dedicated Resource Specialists / Special Education Teachers to support students with diverse learning needs across school settings, including alternative and non-traditional programs. The role focuses on individualized instruction, supporting IEP goals, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to drive student success.

• Valid California Educational Specialist Instruction Credential - Moderate to Severe.
• Added Authorization - Autism.
• EL Authorization.
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs preferred.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized academic instruction to students with mild to moderate disabilities, aligned with IEP goals and California State Standards.
• Design and implement individualized and small-group instruction using evidence-based strategies.
• Conduct formal and informal assessments to guide instruction and monitor student progress.
• Develop, implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with IDEA and local guidelines, including progress reporting.
• Collaborate with general education staff, service providers, and families to support student achievement and inclusion.
• Utilize technology and adaptive tools to enhance access to curriculum.
• Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies that foster a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Support transition planning, including post-secondary goals and vocational readiness (as applicable).
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with state and district requirements.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-based initiatives.
