Ascend Rehab Services, Inc. is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students with moderate to severe disabilities in Alameda, CA.

This in-person role offers flexible full-time or part-time options for the 2026–2027 school year, with pay ranging from $60–75 per hour and H1-B sponsorship available. You will design IEP-aligned instruction, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and document progress.

Qualifications

• Valid California Education Specialist Credential is required.
• Experience with Mod/Severe or ESN classrooms strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized academic instruction aligned with IEP goals and California State Standards.
• Develop and implement individualized and small-group instruction using evidence-based strategies.
• Support students in classroom and alternative educational settings.
• Conduct formal and informal assessments to monitor progress.
• Develop and maintain compliant IEPs and progress reports.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, families.
• Use adaptive technology to increase student access to curriculum.
• Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom management.

Location: Alameda, CA (In-Person)
Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time | 2026–2027 School Year
Pay Rate: $60–75 per hour

Ascend is seeking passionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers to support students with diverse learning needs in a supportive and inclusive educational environment. We are looking for educators committed to student growth, collaboration, and creating meaningful learning experiences for students with moderate to severe disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized academic instruction aligned with IEP goals and California State Standards
• Develop and implement individualized and small-group instruction using evidence-based teaching strategies
• Support students with mild to moderate and/or moderate to severe disabilities in classroom and alternative educational settings
• Conduct formal and informal assessments to monitor academic and behavioral progress
• Develop, manage, and maintain compliant IEPs, including progress reports and documentation
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families
• Utilize adaptive technology and instructional supports to increase student access to curriculum
• Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and classroom management techniques
• Support student transition planning, vocational readiness, and life skills development when applicable
• Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
