Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified Special Education Learning Disabled teacher (grades 7–12) with SEI endorsement for a long-term substitute position at Charlestown High School. The role starts 09/02/2026 and runs through 01/01/2027, with per diem pay for substitutes.

Ideal candidates will implement IEPs, provide targeted instruction, and collaborate with the school team to support student success.

Qualifications

• SEI Endorsement required.
• Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Experience teaching students with moderate to severe disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Implement district learning goals aligned with state frameworks and adapt access points for portfolio development.
• Provide small-group and individualized instruction to students with LD/MD to progress in the general curriculum.
• Develop and monitor IEP goals, with regular progress reports to families and administrators.
• Provide accommodations and appropriate assessments; design curriculum when needed and analyze student work for MCAS/alternative assessments.
• Collaborate with school teams to support student needs and smooth transitions to adulthood services.
