Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Special Education Learning Disabled and Math teacher with an SEI Endorsement to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. This long-term substitute position is scheduled to run from January 4, 2027, to April 6, 2027, with per diem pay and district expectations aligned to BPS standards.

The ideal candidate holds a Massachusetts Teaching License in Moderate Disabilities, an ESL or SEI endorsement, and a commitment to inclusive practice,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Massachusetts Teaching License in Moderate Disabilities for the appropriate grade level.
• ESL License at the appropriate level or SEI Endorsement.
• Fully licensed and Highly Qualified per state standards.
• Authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Implement district learning goals aligned with state frameworks and identify access points for student portfolio development.
• Provide small-group instruction to students with moderate to severe cognitive delays within the general curriculum.
• Write and implement IEP goals and provide timely progress reports.
• Provide accommodations for learning and testing; develop curriculum as needed and prepare for assessments.
• Collaborate with staff to support modifications and transitions to adult services where appropriate.
