Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a compassionate SPED Teacher to join our full-time school-based team in Santa Fe, NM. You will support students with diverse learning needs and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams.

You will develop IEPs, provide specialized instruction, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with SPED requirements while contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid New Mexico Special Education teaching license.
• NM PED
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations and best practices.
• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
• Strong classroom management, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with families, educators and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs based on student needs and goals.
• Provide specialized instruction to students with a range of learning, emotional, behavioral and developmental disabilities.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to support academic achievement.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to promote student success.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate documentation of student performance and progress.
• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with families regarding goals.
• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Implement evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies to meet diverse student needs.
• Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal SPED requirements.
