Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group in Thornton, CO is seeking a compassionate Special Education Teacher (SPED Teacher) to join our full-time school-based team. You will develop and deliver individualized instruction for students with diverse learning and behavioral needs in an inclusive setting.

Collaborate with families, educators, and multidisciplinary staff to implement IEPs, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements while maintaining a positive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Indiana Special Education teaching license.
• CDE certification.
• Knowledge of SPED laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with families, educators, and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs based on student needs and goals.
• Provide specialized instruction to students with a range of learning, emotional, and developmental needs.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies for growth.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to promote student success.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student performance and progress.
