Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our full-time school-based team in Rio Rancho, NM. You will support students with diverse needs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster growth and achievement.

As a SPED teacher, you will develop IEPs, provide specialized instruction, monitor progress, and maintain accurate documentation. This role offers comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid New Mexico Special Education teaching license.
• NM PED certification or credential as required.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations and best practices in special education.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs based on student needs and goals.
• Provide specialized instruction to diverse learners with disabilities.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction to support achievement.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related services.
• Maintain documentation of student performance and progress.
• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate with families.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Apply evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies.
• Ensure compliance with district, state and federal requirements.
