Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District in El Paso, TX seeks a paraprofessional to assist with the instructional and physical needs of students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom.

Under the supervision of a certified teacher, the role includes supporting IEP goals, preparing materials, managing behavior, assisting with testing, and helping with mobility, personal care, and adaptive equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or higher; 48 hours from an accredited college or university.
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain a paraprofessional certificate issued by SBEC.
• Acquire CPR and Heimlich maneuver training, and NCI within available district training.
• Familiar with/able to use OT/PT apparatus.
• Must be able to communicate, listen, read, write, and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instructional material preparation and behavioral interventions.
• Provide support to students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom.
• Assist with testing measurement instruments and technology integration into the curriculum.
• Support implementation of IEPs and daily living activities.
• Supervise students during the day and participate in staff development activities.
