Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or higher; 48 hours from an accredited college or university.
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain SBEC paraprofessional certificate.
• Acquire CPR, Heimlich maneuver, and NCI certifications within district training calendar.
• Familiar with OT/PT apparatus; English communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Help supervise students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom and assist with IEP implementation.
• Assist teacher with instructional materials, behavioral interventions, and physical needs of students.
• Participate in staff development and implement strategies in the curriculum.
• Work with individual students, small groups, and whole class as assigned by the teacher.
• Assist with testing instruments and technology integration.
• Assist with transportation and personal care as needed; support substitutes and daily routines.
