Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District is seeking a Special Education Aide for the SSC at EAST POINT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. The role encompasses assisting with IEP implementation, behavior management, and instructional support for students with disabilities.

The paraprofessional will work under a certified teacher’s direction, provide assistance across classrooms and during transitions, and help implement adaptations and augmentative communication tools as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 48 college hours preferred.
• Paraprofessional SBEC certificate required or eligible.
• CPR, Heimlich, and NCI certifications to be obtained within district training calendar.
• Able to communicate in English; assist with mobility and personal care as needed.

Responsibilities

• Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom.
• Assist teacher with instructional materials, behavioral interventions, and physical needs of students.
• Participate in staff development and implement strategies into the curriculum.
• Work with individual students, small groups, and whole class as assigned by teacher.
• Assist with testing instruments and technology integration into the curriculum.
• Incorporate social and emotional learning and behavioral strategies daily.
