Job summary

Qualifications

• RN license is required and CPR certification is preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred; current license and state certification required.
• Experience with school health services and IEPs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the care of the student in accordance with the student’s care plan.
• Maintains information about the health and developmental status of students.
• Supports nursing care plans with goals and interventions for the student’s needs.
• Manages student behavior to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Documents nursing care via computer program.
• Attends staff, district, IEPs, and 504 meetings to share health-related data.
• Reports health and safety status to administrators and appropriate agencies.
• Responds to emergencies and directs to proper personnel.
• Maintains current knowledge in school nursing practices.
• Supports goals and objectives of the school and district.
