Job summary

Paradise Valley Unified School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant/SPED Personal Care at Desert Shadows Middle School. The role supports the instructional program with one-on-one work for students with special needs, following IEP goals and behavioral plans.

The position is a 9-month contract (6.75 hours daily). Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and CPR/First Aid certification; CPI training preferred. You'll contribute to a safe, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Adheres to safety practices and maintains accurate records.
• Basic math, reading manuals, and following multi-step instructions.
• Ability to interact with diverse groups and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities to support objectives.
• Assist medically fragile students with personal hygiene.
• Communicate with teachers and health professionals about goals.
• Document daily activities and logs.
• Implement behavioral plans under supervision.
• Maintain files and records for mandates.
• Ensure student safety and de-escalate when needed.
