Job summary

Katy ISD is hiring a SPED Resource/ICS Elementary Teacher to provide special education consultation and instruction for eligible students. You will communicate with campus staff, district SPED staff, and parents, coordinating ARD/IEP processes and ensuring compliant documentation.

Role involves collaborating with general education teachers, collecting progress data, and implementing supports per IEPs. Requires TX certification and strong communication, with potential SHARS duties and leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
• Valid Texas certificate in appropriate area required.
• Ability to work effectively between the school and community.
• Effective written & verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual certification required for respective positions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ARD/IEP meetings and supporting documents.
• Complete local, state and federal paperwork for program participation.
• Develop instructional programs to meet student needs.
• Collaborate with general and special education staff to set PLAAFP and goals.
• Administer district assessments and maintain student data.
• Provide behavior management strategies and least restrictive supports.
