Job summary

BOUDNY ELEMENTARY in Katy, Texas is seeking a Teacher - SPED - Adaptive Behavior to deliver specialized instruction and support students with disabilities. You will collaborate with the principal, teachers, and families to implement IEP goals and behavioral plans in an inclusive classroom setting.

The role requires a Texas teaching certificate, collaboration across campus and community, and capacity to manage data, fidelity to ARD/IEP processes, and CPI certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• Valid Texas certificate in appropriate area.
• Meets requirements of Highly Qualified.
• Ability to work effectively between the school and community.
• Effective written & verbal communication & consultation skills.
• Knowledge of positive behavior interventions & supports.

Responsibilities

• Provide special education consultation and instruction to meet the academic & behavioral needs of eligible students with disabilities.
• Communicate with campus staff, district special education staff, and parents/guardians information pertaining to student needs (ARD paperwork, IEP’s, FBA, BIP & data collection).
• Prepare documents and attend ARD/IEP meetings for students eligible for special education.
• Complete local, state and federal paperwork required for program participation.
• Collaborate with teachers and related service staff to develop PLAAFP’s and annual goals/objectives for IEP’s.
• Administer criterion referenced testing, district and state testing as appropriate.
• Stay current on educational practices and apply new instructional and behavior strategies as appropriate.
