Job summary

Katy ISD CROSS ELEMENTARY in Katy, Texas seeks a SPED - Resource/ICS teacher to provide special education consultation and instruction for eligible students. You will coordinate ARD/IEP processes, communicate with staff and families, and develop instructional plans aligned with IEP goals.

• Effective written & verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual certification required for respective positions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ARD/IEP meetings for students eligible for special education.
• Complete local, state and federal paperwork required for program participation.
• Develop instructional programs for eligible students to achieve mastery of essential knowledge and skills.
• Collaborate with regular education teachers and related service staff to develop PLAAFP and annual goals/objectives for IEPs.
• Administer criterion referenced testing.
• Maintain current state-of-the-art educational practices.
• Coordinate with general education staff regarding paraprofessional responsibilities and data collection.
• Collect and maintain data related to student progress.
• Report progress on IEP goals/objectives each grading period.
• Provide behavior management techniques for eligible students.
• Complete State Assessment requirements for eligible students.
• Communicate with general education staff and parents/guardians regarding student progress/needs/concerns.
• Support provides for students with disabilities in least restrictive environment.
• Maintain confidential student records.
• Attend required trainings and staff development.
• Other SHARS duties as assigned.
• Provide Personal Care as identified in applicable student IEPs.
