Job summary

BASIS Ed is seeking a Special Education Regional Coordinator to oversee SPED programs at Pflugerville and Austin campuses, managing testing, evaluation, and IEP implementation under IDEA, EL, and 504.

The role requires a valid SPED certificate, 1 year of related experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; you will train staff, ensure compliance, and collaborate with school leaders to provide FAPE and timely accommodations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in special education or related subject matter (or 24+ credit hours in applicable subject matter with other degree).
• Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or satisfactory state background check.
• Current Special Education certificate valid in relevant jurisdiction.
• 1 year in a role with related special education duties.
• Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Comprehensively manage the student special education process including child find, evaluation/identification, plan creation, implementation and review under IDEA, EL, and 504.
• Participate in Student Support Team (SST) programs as appropriate.
• Oversee day-to-day tasks of SPED Teachers and SPED/ESS Assistants.
• Ensure specially designed instruction aligns with IEPs.
• Provide guidance and professional development to general education teachers on IDEA, FAPE, Child Find obligations, and the referral process.
• Identify and serve English Learners (EL)
• Ensure compliance with all State and Federal SPED requirements and deadlines.
• Schedule and facilitate parent meetings for plans (EL, 504, IEP).
• Maintain SPED paperwork and files.
• Schedule and facilitate hearing/vision screenings for SPED students.
• Coordinate and ensure full compliance with IDEA and 504 across programs.
• Prepare and report data for internal/external regulatory purposes.
• Support general education teachers and collaborate with admins to ensure FAPE.
