Job summary

Qualifications

• BS/BA in education or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Certification in Exceptional Education (one or two areas).
• Minimum three years of successful teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise SPED Teachers and the school's SPED program.
• Review evaluation data to determine eligibility for SPED students.
• Protect confidentiality of personally identifiable data.
• Consult with staff regarding eligibility, placement and services.
• Educate parents about SPED programs, eligibility, and rights.
• Serve as liaison among SPED, general education, and parents.
• Coordinate resources from CSUSA, district, and community.
• Facilitate communication among school staff.
• Schedule IEPs, ITPs, FSPs, and EPs per state requirements.
• Contribute to inclusive procedures and least-restrictive environment.
• Provide technical assistance in disputes and problem-solving.
• Travel to CSUSA sites as required and report FTE data.
