Job summary

Charter Schools USA in Orlando seeks an ESE Coordinator to direct SPED teachers and manage the school’s special education program in accordance with state laws and CSUSA policies.

You will schedule IEPs/ITPs, coordinate services with staff and families, review evaluation data, uphold confidentiality, and travel to CSUSA campuses as needed. BS/BA required; Master’s degree and SPED certification preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Certified in one area of Exceptional Education (two areas preferred).
• Minimum of three years successful teaching experience.
• Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct and manage SPED Teachers and SPED program.
• Review evaluation data to determine eligibility for students.
• Protect confidentiality of personally identifiable data.
• Provide consultant services to school staff on eligibility and placement.
• Educate parents about SPED programs, locations, policies, and rights.
• Serve as liaison among SPED, regular education and parents.
• Coordinate resources from CSUSA, district and community.
• Facilitate communication between staff and teams.
• Schedule and conduct IEPs, ITPs, FSPs, and EPs.
• Assist with inclusive procedures for CSUSA schools.
• Implement Least Restrictive Environment for SPED students.
• Provide technical assistance in disputes.
• Travel to CSUSA sites as required.
• Report FTE data.
• Recommend program improvements based on data analysis.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with the district SPED department.
