Job summary

Serendipity Center Inc. is seeking a SPED Coordinator to lead individualized education plans and ensure compliance with state and district guidelines. The role requires a Master’s in Education and SPED teaching experience, along with an Oregon license with Special Education endorsement.

You will collaborate with teachers, intake coordinators, and case managers, while supporting our students’ growth and adapting plans to meet diverse needs in a private nonprofit campus setting.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education and three years SPED teaching experience.
  • Current Oregon Teaching License with Special Education Endorsement.
  • Experience with Behavioral/Mental Health Disorders preferred.
  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional materials and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and write individualized educational plans (IEPs) for students eligible for special education services.
  • Monitor workload and ensure IEPs are revised before meetings to meet deadlines and comply with district, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Lead annual IEP meetings and IEP review meetings with parents, students, and professionals, communicating recommendations clearly.
  • Collaborate with Intake Coordinator and Case Manager to review existing IEPs and discuss implementation with the classroom team.
  • Establish positive relations with school district representatives and participate in professional trainings and staff development.
  • Provide training on best instructional practices and IEP procedures compliance.
