Job summary

Great Hearts Academies seeks a Special Education Coordinator (6-12) at the Prairie View Upper School in Fort Worth, TX. This exempt, full-time role leads the SPED department, coordinates ARD/IEP processes, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

The coordinator collaborates with SPED teachers, LSSP's, diagnosticians, and related service providers, guiding program development and staff support. Requires TX SPED certification and leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of the special education process, including timelines and compliance.
• Experience coaching/mentoring teachers and providing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of the Child Centered Special Education Process on assigned campus.
• Ensure ARD/IEP processes meet federal, state, and local requirements.
• Lead SPED team, supporting teachers and TAs, and advise on challenging situations with students or parents.
• Facilitate ARD meetings, FIEs, and annual/ triennial IEP reviews.
• Oversee caseload distribution and ensure smooth transfer procedures for new students.
