Job summary

Great Hearts Western Hills Lower School is seeking a Special Education Coordinator to lead the SPED department, oversee IEP processes, and guide teachers and ESS staff. This role acts as a liaison with families and the school psychologist, ensuring compliant timelines and quality services for students with disabilities.

The coordinator will supervise caseload assignments, facilitate data reviews, and mentor SPED teachers, in alignment with Great Hearts' educational philosophy and mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• TX Special Education Certification and subject-area certification required or relevant.
• Minimum 3 years as a Special Education coordinator; leadership and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees caseload distribution and final assignments to SPED teachers.
• Coordinates IEP meetings, data collection, and review meetings.
• Guides SPED teachers, ESS team, and related service providers.
• Ensures compliance with IEP timelines and documentation standards.
• Leads evaluation coordination and communication with families and staff.
