Job summary

Paradise Valley Unified School District's James P. Lee Early Childhood Learning Center in Phoenix seeks a SPED Instructional Assistant for a 9-month, 6-hour day program supporting special needs students in various settings.

The position is non-interim with a starting date of 8/3/2026 and pays $16.99 per hour. Requires a high school diploma or GED, benefits include ASRS, paid sick/personal time, medical and optional dental/vision.

Qualifications

• SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
• KNOWLEDGE basic math and reading materials; understand instructions; implement instructional procedures.
• ABILITY to adapt, communicate with diverse groups, maintain confidentiality and work with students with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Adapt activities and materials to support classroom objectives.
• Monitor and assist students with daily living and instructional activities.
• Assist in implementing IEP plans and monitoring student behavior.
• Communicate with supervising staff and parents regarding student progress.
• Provide supervision to ensure safety in various school environments.
