Job summary

Desert Cove Elementary School in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking an Instructional Assistant/SPED HQ for the 2026-27 school year. This non-interim position supports the instructional program for students with special needs across regular and self-contained classrooms, 9 months at 6.5 hours per day.

HQ requirements include a HS Diploma or GED and options such as 60 postsecondary hours, an AA degree, or passing of the ParaPro Assessment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED and one of: 60 postsecondary hours, AA degree, or passing ParaPro Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Supports instructional program for special needs students in various classroom settings.
• Assists in supervising, care and instruction of students with disabilities.
• Implements IEP-based plans and monitors student behavior.
• Communicates with teachers, staff and parents regarding progress.
• Maintains documentation and records as required.
