Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a SpEd paraprofessional to assist classroom teachers in a Colorado school setting. You will support individual students or small groups, help manage instructional activities, and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Role requires strong communication, basic computer skills, and prior experience with children. Reliability, teamwork, and confidentiality are essential as you collaborate with students, parents, and staff.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent or pass proficiency exam.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties and responsibilities involved with assisting teachers in all phases of educating youth.
• Tutors students as directed, assists with routine duties and ensures safety and discipline.
• Administers, scores, and records achievement and diagnostic tests as recommended by the teacher.
• Monitors students during recess, after school, and other times as needed.
• Works with students to reinforce learning of materials or skills introduced by the teacher.
• Assists the teacher in devising strategies for reinforcing material based on student needs.
• Maintains classroom facilities and materials; supervises cleanup.
• Helps students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
• Distributes and collects workbooks, papers, and other materials for instruction.
• Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work as directed by the teacher.
• Assists with supervision of students during drills, assemblies, play periods, field trips.
• Assists with large group activities.
• Maintains bulletin boards and classroom displays.
• Reads to students, listens to reading, and communicates with students; assists in the media center.
• Records attendance and collects money as needed.
• Assists with lunch, snacks, cleanup, and toilet routines; participates in program changes as needed.
• Serves as chief information source to substitute teachers.
• Maintains confidentiality and ethical behavior regarding student information.
• Participates in in-service training as assigned.
• Administers minor first aid.
• Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the teacher.
