Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a Paraprofessional to support educators and students within the classroom environment. This role assists teachers in instructional activities and helps manage daily schedules and student tasks.

The paraprofessional will help prepare materials, track student progress, and participate in training for best practices when assisting ASD students. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential in daily interactions.

Qualifications

• Meet one or more of the following: 60 hours toward a college diploma; or an associate's degree; or demonstrate knowledge via a formal assessment.
• High school diploma or GED with courses in child care, growth and development, reading, psychology desired.
• Physical and emotional stamina to work with a variety of students.
• Experience with underachievers or handicapped persons desired.
• Experience with children in group settings.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills.
• Ability to be confidential.
• Ability to communicate at various levels with students, parents and staff.
• Ability to carry out assignments by teachers and by the building administrator.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and students.
• Carry out designated reinforcement (instructional) activities in all areas.
• Participate in individual assessment.
• Assist in planning daily schedules and activities.
• Record student data and progress and assist in setting up student activities.
• Prepare materials and equipment.
• Follow through teaching strategies consistently.
• Maintain an inventory of teaching materials and equipment.
• Work with audio-visual equipment.
• Schedule student groups for reinforcement activities considering the student's total program.
• Attend instructional in-services for new programs, methods, and equipment.
• Attend training activities for best practices in support ASD students including CPI, Aff.
• Participate in lifting, transferring, and health care needs of students.
• Perform other duties as requested by the director, supervisor, teacher and/or building administrator.
• Help with data tracking/progress monitoring.
