Job summary

Qualifications

• Assists teachers in special education classrooms and provides individual or group assistance
• Supports development of functional life skills and academic skills as needed
• Maintains confidentiality and follows IEPs and district procedures

Responsibilities

• Assist students with intellectual, physical, or behavioral disabilities in classroom activities and routines
• Provide attendant services and support for students as needed
• Move and position students, set up instructional materials, and support behavior management practices
• Record student progress toward goals and assist in preparing instructional materials and charts
• Collaborate with teachers and participate in district training programs as requested
