Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator Aide 3 for Sparks Middle School. This 32.5 hours per week, 180-day position supports teachers in instructional activities and may provide one-to-one assistance to students with special needs.

Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and meet Highly Qualified requirements including college coursework or ParaPro/ParaPathways credentials as outlined in the job posting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completed at least 48 semester hours of credit at an accredited college or university; or an associate's degree or higher.
• ParaPathways reading/writing score of at least 332 and math score of 334 or above; or
• ParaPro Assessment score of at least 455.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, works in a special education classroom assisting teaching staff in instructional activities.
• Provides individual or group assistance based on student needs and behavioral support.
• May provide attendant services to students with various disabilities and supports instruction in life skills and academics.
• Performs related duties and assists in maintaining classroom equipment and materials.
• Assists in recording student progress towards goals and developing instructional materials.
