Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator Aide 3 at Desert Skies Middle School for 27 hours per week across 180 days. The role provides 1:1 and group support under supervision to students with varying abilities in a Title I setting.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the following: 48 semester hours/assoc. degree, ParaPathways score, or ParaPro assessment score.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet one of the following: 48 semester hours or an associate's degree or higher.
• ParaPathways with reading/writing score ≥ 332 and math score ≥ 334, or ParaPro score ≥ 455.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, assists teachers in a special education classroom with instructional activities.
• Provides individual or small group support based on student needs and IEP goals.
• Assists with daily classroom operations and safety, including behavior support and transitions.
• May assist with transportation-related tasks and student supervision as needed.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
