Job summary

Sylvania in Kentucky is seeking an Aide – Motor to support students with physical and motor disabilities at Juniper Ridge Middle School and North Cache Middle School. This 20-hour-per-week role involves assisting with mobility, positioning, and participation in classroom activities, under supervision of staff.

You will assist with therapeutic activities, monitor safety, and help with daily living tasks while maintaining records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Job-related experience is desired.
• District-required annual training.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with mobility, positioning, transfers, and access to instruction.
• Support therapeutic activities and motor development programs as directed by therapists and staff.
• Help students participate in classroom, school, and community activities.
• Monitor safety during mobility and therapeutic activities.
• Assist with personal care and daily living activities as needed.
• Maintain adaptive equipment, instructional materials, and records related to student support services.
• Observe and document student participation and progress and communicate with staff.
• Adapt classroom activities and materials to accommodate student needs.
• Attend meetings and training sessions related to student services and motor support programs.
• Follow health, safety, and lifting procedures when assisting students.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
