Job summary

Paradise Valley Unified School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant/Personal Care LPN for Special Education at Desert Shadows Middle School. This 9-month, 7.5-hour-per-day position (10/23/2026–5/27/2027) reports to the school nurse and requires a current LPN license. The role includes supporting the student with care per the care plan and assisting other students as needed in the program.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with severely handicapped children.
• Effective communication skills.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees and community.
• Observe, record, and report to the school nurse the condition of the student including signs and symptoms, which may be indicative of a change in the patient's condition.
• Provide for the emotional and physical comfort of the student.
• Assist in the care of the student in accordance with the student's care plan.
• Assist as needed with other students in program.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.
