Job summary

Paradise Valley Unified School District is seeking a SPED Instructional Assistant/Personal Care LPN at North Canyon High School in Phoenix. This 9-month, 6.75 hours per day position reports to the school nurse and starts immediately.

Required is a current LPN license, high school diploma or GED, and a background clearance. Responsibilities include supporting students, monitoring conditions, and providing comfort per the care plan, with additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with severely handicapped children.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Possession of a current license to practice as a licensed practical nurse.
• Criminal Background Clearance.
• Valid Arizona DPS Level I IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees and community.
• Observe, record, and report to the school nurse the condition of the student including signs and symptoms that may indicate a change in the student’s condition.
• Provide for the emotional and physical comfort of the student.
• Assist in the care of the student in accordance with the student’s care plan.
• Assist as needed with other students in program.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.
